Zane Biddle - Horn
Zane Biddle, hornist from Hanover, Pennsylvania, started his professional career at age 12 with the Lyric Band of Hanover, playing principal by the next year. At age 16 he won the York Symphony Orchestra’s Young Artist concerto competition. Then at age 17, he was a finalist at the Harrisburg Symphony‘s Rising Stars concerto competition. Throughout his career, Mr. Biddle has never placed lower than second in any competition including PMEA State Orchestra auditions, his 5 years as principal horn in the York Youth Symphony Orchestra, and various concerto and scholarship competitions. In September 2008 Mr. Biddle was invited to play in Italy for the nation’s commemoration of 9/11, which was broadcast on national television. Zane Biddle is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where, with the help of a merit based full tuition scholarship, he has since been honing his craft under the instruction of former Cleveland Orchestra principal horn Richard Solis.
